The Toddler Program is a flexible, yet structured program designed to enable your child to explore and grow in his/her ever changing world. The program consists of short, structured activities where your child explores and learns while improving his/her fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and social skills. Our Toddler Program is age-appropriate, geared to the individual needs of each child, and offered in a warm and caring environment. Below is a sampling of the types of activities that your child will participate in.
Free Play
Will encourage your child to make choices, share and interact with peers, and develop social skills.
Circle Time
Your child will be encouraged to sit for short periods of time and participate in learning songs, fingerplays and listening to stories.
Snack Time
Children are encouraged to work on good manners (please and thank you) and self-help skills such as feeding oneself and washing hands.
Activities
Your child will participate in a variety of structured activities designed to create and/or to discover new things while using all of his/her senses. These activities further develop fine motor skills.
Outside Play
Your child will have outside playtime in the playground where he/she may chose to participate in organized games and other activities. Because we are located in a lovely, natural setting, nature walks are often conducted and are very popular with both staff and children.
